About Twirl
Twirl was established in 2008 in the heart of the arts district in San Antonio. For the Owner and Lead Stylist, Lisa Weller, the salon is a culmination of her career's work, point of view and esthetic.
At the age of seven Lisa moved with her family to San Antonio, and she proudly calls it her home. Shortly after graduating from Texas A&M with a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition, she decided to take her career in a completely new direction and enroll in beauty school. It quickly became apparent that doing hair was her true calling. As she describes it, when she first put her hands into a head of hair “it was like they just knew what to do.” Fresh out of beauty school, she was snatched up by Salon David Escape Spa, where she soon rose to the position of Lead stylist and Educator, attending classes at Bumble and bumble University and L’Oreal Academy in New York City, and returning to teach new cutting and coloring techniques to her colleagues.
Despite a solid and growing Texas clientele, in 2006, Lisa and her husband moved to the East Coast for her to pursue a dream of working full time at Bumble and bumble in Manhattan. During her time there, Lisa was thrilled to work New York Fashion Week, make connections with some of the top names in the business, and style photo shoots for models and celebrities. She loved the energy of the city and the opportunities it provided, but she had begun to desire a place of her own and was feeling pulled toward home. In 2007 they moved back to San Antonio, and after much planning, hard work, and the help of good friends, Twirl at last became a reality. She is proud to be a part of this amazing city, and participate in its growing beauty.
Since returning Lisa has been working with world renowned editorial stylist Guido Palau. She has traveled to New York and Paris working on shows for Marc Jacobs, Vogue, Lanvin, Valentino, Alexander McQueen, Louis Vuitton just to name a few.
